“Super Powers”- Batwing

I told you I’ve been collecting the Super Powers re-releases since they came to Walmart “New for ‘22”.

I also told you I caught up with the Wave 5 Batman (Black Variant) à la ‘89 Batman.

Then I got the urge to possess a Batwing in black à la ‘89 Batman.

The black Batman-black Batwing-black Whirlybat was rumored to be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive for summer 2024. Because I will not be attending SDCC, this had the prospect of being a long, future eBay stakeout.

Therefore, not anticipating I might ever have an affordable Batwing to open, I made over a standard Batwing into the ‘89 Batwing, and this is how it came out:

Please note Wave 5 Batman has gold accents; and the Batwing, an orange canopy:

As it turns out, the Amazon exclusive 3-pack Batman will have yellow accents (more like the Toy Biz ‘89 Batman), and will have a smoky grey, not orange, canopy color:

So it may be the only one like it!

Hey, I still got the Batman with Batwing and Whirlybat 3-pack, after all, thanks to my buddy, Nick Lucero!
